This trip allows kids to make a difference AND have some serious fun.
We’ve joined with Cross Cultural Solutions — featured on CNN and in the New York Times, Travel + Leisure and The Wall Street Journal — to give students and their families the rare opportunity to travel deep into the heart of the Cartago, Costa Rica community and immediately step into the rhythm of its daily life. Participants get to work on local service projects, experience the Costa Rican culture like never before, really get to know the locals, and still have time for personal and group adventures. Afternoons and evenings are filled with both free time and fun activities like climbing a volcano, salsa dance lessons, Spanish lessons and movie nights.
After time in Cartago, the group heads to Costa Rica’s most beautiful beach to live it up at a deluxe all-inclusive resort! Enjoy sizzling sunshine, white sand beaches and great restaurants.
Make a Difference in the Galápagos Islands
10 days
Just six hundred miles off the coast of Ecuador lies an enchanted archipelago - the Galapagos Islands. This journey takes you to the best the islands have to offer - on sea and on land. First cruise through the blue Pacific waters to see amazing, unique wildlife and stunning sunsets. Then stay on Santa Cruz Island at a beachfront eco-hotel. Here you’ll spend time each day working with the Galapagos-Ecuador Foundation, created in 1998 to assist in the conservation of the Galapagos Islands. As volunteers, you’ll travel to various islands picking up debris and unwanted items that have arrived on the tides and also help at the Foundation’s recycling plant, located on Santa Cruz Island. After observing the amazing wildlife and working with the local people, you’ll understand why these islands captured the imagination of Charles Darwin and all who have come after him.
